A New Name!!! and a check up with Dr. Jen

7/18/11 Monday -
It's officially been decided, our boy has a new name! Doc never fit well, Huckleberry was too long, Pie was too short, but Skip fits just perfect.
When I brought this horse home I called my Daddy and cried in his ear about trying to save this poor baby, and of course, Dad said, "anything for you" ...and since Dad has been helping pay our boy's medical bills it's only fitting to call him Skip, in honor of my Dad (Skip is my Dad's nickname).

Skip went to see Dr. Jen today, he was a brave patient. She took a radiograph of his left hock as that leg gives him more trouble... and he does have some bony changes to the hock as a result of this injury... but the good news he is moving great! And Dr. Jen is of the thought "if it's not broken, don't fix it", frankly I couldn't agree more! She recommended we begin him on Adequan and Hyaluronan as preventative maintenance, and to continue moving him as much as possible.

Skip remained still while he received laser treatment to a couple areas, so brave!
Brave boy.

All pretty after lasers!

Thank you Dad.
