I just returned from my dream vacation to the Galapagos Islands, and although it was hard to leave that paradise behind, it is good to be back at home with my family; four-legged and two.
Check out this poor horse and his unusual saddle:

Alicia took excellent care of Doc while I was away. His wounds have shrunk a tiny amount, and his lower legs don't look quite as swollen as they did when I left.
Now that his "stallion hormones" have worn off, we decided that it is time to give Doc a try over at my house. There are more hills for him to climb here, and my mare, Dixie, is good at moving the herd around a lot. Hopefully the constant movement will help his legs to heal faster. Springtime is coming quickly, and I want his legs to be in the best shape possible for any kind of surgery that he may need. There is also plenty of green grass on my property for the horses to graze on.

Mmmmm... there's hay here too! |

...and hills :) |
Doc and I have signed up for the next "Safe and Sane on the ground" lesson at the equestrian center, so starting next week, we will be attending weekly lessons together! I am very excited to start working with him on the ground under Gail Bloxham's expert guidance. We will keep you posted on his progress!
